About Birth Center of Denver

1830 North Franklin St, Denver, CO

Birth Center of Denver is the only hospital-owned, freestanding birth center in Denver. The location is affiliated with Saint Joseph Hospital, offering a low-tech approach to labor and delivery. In 2020, the center opened its doors as a natural place to birth your baby unmedicated with the support of holistic practices. Additionally, their team of 10 female nurse midwives brings years of experience to the practice. The center is accredited through the Commission for Accreditation of Birth Centers (CABC) and offers high-quality care to the community.

Women are provided prenatal, childbirth, and postpartum care at the Birth Center of Denver. Prenatal care begins with a traditional 1-on-1 appointment with a nurse midwife. Then, when you enter your second trimester, you will begin CenteringPregnancy™. This type of appointment is 2 hours with 10-12 women who will give birth around the same time as you. Participants will learn how to take their own vitals, including weight, blood pressure, and temperature. Expecting mothers will then be able to socialize and ask the nurse midwives any questions.

Expecting families will feel comfortable and relaxed at the Birth Center of Denver. Each room at the center is private and has a variety of amenities. Expecting mothers can labor and even deliver in the large tubs located in the room. They do provide Nitrous Oxide for pain management. However, they do not offer epidurals on-site. The large rooms have spacious showers, adjustable beds, and many more modern conveniences.

They do accept many different insurance companies because of the hospital-owned status. If you have questions about coverage, contact your insurance agency for more information. If you want to learn more or tour the facilities, then contact them online for more information. Also, visit their site to take a virtual tour and learn more about all they have to offer!
